Araika Foundation Kenya is a non-profit organization that aims to provide new school shoes, uniforms and financial support to underprivileged children through donations from well-wishers. ‘Araika’ is the Kikuyu name for Angels. Every child needs an angel in his/her life. Our donors are our Angels. We also mentor the young ones in personal development and career nurturing. We have been blessed enough to have volunteers who donate their time to touch a child’s heart by offering a listening ear and encouraging words of triumph that go a long way in building these kids’ self-esteem and aspirations

The right to education is a fundamental opportunity of every child in the world. Lacking the basic needs compromises these rights. In Kenya, most families in rural areas or slums struggle in prioritizing between basics needs (food and shelter) and educational needs of their children. This often results in the latter not getting the attention and resources required. Some parents are only able to buy school shoes and a proper uniform once every few years. Therefore, the child uses the same pair for years, making them worn out and barely usable..
